Like many home buyers, I assumed that I didn’t need to enlist a real estate agent to help me buy new construction because I was buying directly from a builder.

You may be thinking, like I did, why do I need my own real estate agent when the model homes were staffed by onsite seller's agents who work for the builder? I can testify that I am so glad that I had my Real Estate Broker, Roberto Tonge. Roberto demonstrated that he is an experienced real estate professional that knows the ins and outs of the home buying process. He showed that he represented my best interests. Roberto helped me through the maze and challenges of new construction home buying and understanding things like what the model home’s upgrades, extras, and trendy design features were and their ‘true’ cost. Roberto’s knowledge of the market and other homes in the surrounding neighborhood helped guide me to ensure that I wasn’t wooed by pricey upgrades that may be less expensive to put in later myself, instead of rolling the cost into a 30-year mortgage. I look back at Roberto’s contribution to my new construction home buying process and simple say “Wow”. Although the builder’s purchase contracts was confusing and intimidating, Roberto handled all of the contractual paperwork, making certain that the contract is written to protect me as opposed to the builder. Roberto did the research on the builder’s lender and shopped around to find the best loan options for me. Roberto was an invaluable resource in helping me make informed decisions and ensuring that I had—and, most importantly, understood—all the information needed before I bought new construction. The fact that he could do this in both English and Spanish was a blessing! If you are looking to buy an existing home or new construction do not stop by the models or the sales office without Roberto Tonge. I recommend Roberto Tonge without reservations.
